I decided to call Apple Support about a question I had about the Apple Watch, just because I wanted to know more about how it actually works with the iPhone (I might concider buying it). This is what happened.
Getting through to the customer support service was easy. I didn't have to do anything fancy, I just started Hangouts and called the USA phone number because that one is free and for some reason the Belgian 0800 number (which should, by law, be free too) complained about me not having enough money on my Hangouts to make the call.
Suddenly I hear a male voice say "Hi Rebecca, are you calling about your recent repair?". I freaked out because I thought I had done something wrong and called from someone else's number, so I was seriously speachless. The guy proceeded and told me to press 1 if it was about the repair and 2 if it wasn't. I honestly should've pressed 1 in order to see if they'd kick me off the call or not but I didn't want to do any harm to this "Rebecca" so I pressed 2 and he asked me what it was about. I was confused, so I really didn't know what to answer. I ended up asking the question but didn't get any reply so I hung up.
I think this is very weird and I decided to make a post about it just to see if anyone else has been experiencing this and if I did anything wrong by trying to make a call to the USA number while I live in Belgium.
If you know any more about this issue, please tell me by leaving a comment on this post.
The official CoD: BO3 reveil trailer came out just an hour ago, and YouTube can't even handle the amount of views it's receiving. It's a two minute video that answers some of our questions, but still keeps you biting your fingernails about what the game is going to be like. Let's get into it!
The description says: "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is a dark, gritty future where a new breed of
Black Ops soldier emerges and the lines are blurred between our own
humanity and the cutting-edge military robotics that define the future
of combat."
This is very interesting. The answer to the question posed in the actual video remains mostly hidden: what actually happens when the soldier becomes the weapon? I think it's going to be really cool, maybe they're trying to implement the Titanfall mechanics with an interesting twist to it? I really don't know, but the four-legged machine in the video looked quite cool.
Now I can imagine that thing being really strong, but an army that only has tanks won't really be that succesful. You also need footsoldiers, and those were included in the fun too.
Sorry for the fullscreen message it gave me, it keeps on showing up and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Another really interesting question the narrator asked in the video was how much we could push technology before it starts to push back. Maybe the enemies in the campaign are going to be robots? I don't know, but these soldiers look like they're armed enough to destroy an army of robots if you'd ask me.
I mean seriously, you can create something with enormous power pretty easily but if you can't control it it'll become your death. Military forces of all around the world are known for using the most powerful weapons they can acquire, and that could lead to unnecessary death (see the Syria war: villages are being bombarded because there's a couple of enemies in there, at the cost of all inhabitants that are at the wrong place at the wrong time).
Something else that really looks like it's going to be awesome is controlling a war drone. I absolutely love everything that has something to do with drones, so this is going to be awesome.
And another little something I noticed is that a soldier is dual wielding what looks like two RPGs, but it could also be something else (I don't know, honestly).
I wasn't able to get the most detailed of pictures, but it'll do for now. I think it's two RPGs, but you never know with modern-day games.
It looks like Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is going to be awesome and I honestly can't even wait for the 6th of November.
Well, once this game rolls out it'll distract me long enough to make the rest of the wait for Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens a bit less painful.
If you want more of my opinion on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 so far, check out my post on the "Ember" tease and the hidden coördinates in the first teaser.
If the title didn't give it away yet, there has been a newly released (literally the day before I'm actually writing this) teaser of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 game. The big YouTubers have already covered it, so now it's my turn to tell you guys about my opinion.
So, they're talking about the fact humanity's biggest mistake will be their inability to control the technology that it has created. This is interesting! It tells us a LOT about what the storyline is going to be about.
Let's get it all summed up: the story is going to be in the future, kind of like Advanced Warfare was. This time, it's different. I think that in the story there's going to be some people getting serious injuries, losing body parts and so on. That's going to make "robot wars". People caught inside of a steel frame.
What I'm kind of wondering about is wether or not these people are going to have the usual sprinting time limit and so on. I mean, if their legs are electric why would they need to rest up at all? If they don't have that, I think they should either give all players in Multiplayer the option for mechanical or human legs and maybe even arms or just keep that stuff away from Multiplayer in the first place. Then again, that'd kind of ruin the whole thing they've got going on with this teaser.
There it is, the lense. This could be a very special new feature: unlocking new lense options as you progress through the game. For example: you start off with a normal vision, like the Black Ops 2 one. As you progress through the storyline, some crazy lab guy develops new features for these lenses he has made you. After completing the first few levels, you get something like an enemy highlight (red line around enemies). If you get through like a fourth of the game, this guy comes up to you and tells you about a special tactical information feature that tells you about hiding spots or routes you can use to flank your enemy.
This could make the storyline very fast-paced by the end of the game and make it so that after you play through the storyline, you're pretty much good to go for Multiplayer when it comes down to your reflexes with some new movement features I'm hoping they're going to surprise us with. After all, Ghosts and Advanced Warfare both surprised us with new movement features like sliding, double jumping and so on.
How the trailer is built up
I know that it's probably not that special, but it really surprised me that they basically just dragged us through the future and what could be happening to humanity if science keeps on producing more and more technology.
It's just a little something that caught my eye and I thought it was worth pointing out.
My general opinion on the game so far
I know that I probably shouldn't really be talking about any of this yet as it's still just in the teaser trailer phase so we don't know that much yet, but I'm going to try to write down my general opinion on what we know about Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 so far.
First of all, I want to say that they've really gotten me interested even though I'm not really that into CoD games. I only own two of them, played a total of three of which I absolutely played a load of one of them.
That game is Black Ops 2, and if they keep it in the same theme I'd probably concider buying it. I'm not really someone that goes into buying pretty expensive games like the previous CoD's but this one has really caught my eye and I think it'll be absolutely worth it.
This is it for now, I'll see you all later.
You might already know about it: a Black Ops III teaser has been launched on the official Call of Duty channel! It contains some hidden coördinates leading to two different locations on Earth, so let's get right into them.
6th October Bridge: Caïro, Egypt (30.05°N, 31,2333°E)
This was the location reveiled by the first set of coördinates that was found (by Th3-Chronikk) so far. If you look at the bottom/right corner, you'll see a set of coördinates that is actually really easy to spot. The guys at the Se7enSins forums have already done the looking up for you and have found, using Google Maps, that these coördinates lead to the 6th October Bridge in Caïro.
This bridge is also known as the "spinal cord" of Caïro, as around about half a million people use it on a daily basis. It connects East- and West-Caïro.
There's loads of possibilities when it comes to how they're going to put this area into the game: will they make it a war between East and West, or will it stay on one side? Will the warzone be on one side of the bridge? There's only one thing that's for sure: they didn't pick these coördinates randomly.
Schanzengasse 14, 8001 Zürich, Switzerland
This is a very CoD-like environment: some awesome hiding spots, yet also some streets where you are out in the open.
I think that in the evening or by night, this area would look awesome to be included in Call of Duty. Beware: this area would also be good for campers.
Now the coördinates for this one. They were, again, found by Th3-Chronikk. These coördinates are a little bit harder to spot, but if you look very closely at the middle of the right-hand side of the picture, you'll see that these coördinates are in a clear font while all the text around it was blurred.
