HEALTH: Don't even TRY cocaine, it'll INSTANTLY alter your brain PERMANENTLY!

I've just read an article online about drugs. I thought it was something very important for you guys to know, as it affects loads of people and the issue should be adressed as much as possible.
What is this amazing threat that I'm talking about? Well, people often say they'll have the will power to fight addiction. Well, let's get into why that is not a good mindset when it comes down to cocaine.

Well, drugs like cocaine don't affect only the body part they're "supposed" to affect (the nerve system, so that you either feel more energetic and alert or sleepy and reduced pain).
A single dose of cocaine also affected a mechanism in the brain's reward center in a University of East Anglia study. What does this change mean? Well, it makes you more likely to relapse into addiction. It literally eats away your will power, so that this argument ("I'll just use my will power to keep myself from getting addicted") is invalid. In fact, I find it quite ironic. This argument is the most common argument when it comes to people trying out drugs and it's also the most absurd one. Funny, in its own way.
They didn't test this on humans, ofcourse. They tested it on mice. Don't instantly go and say "Then it's not sure yet", because it actually is sure already. Mice brains have the same receptors as human ones, so it shouldn't make any difference.
Also, I think it's pretty good to know that they found exactly what they were looking for in this experiment. They were looking for the reason why relapse among cocaine addicts is such a big problem. This was not the end of their research: they've already identified a potential cure (something that pretty much reverses the impact on the mechanism).
Hooray to science, this could be a whole new chapter to the war on drugs as they can now (probably) "cure" the will power of drug addicts.

I hope you've all learned something from this.

P.S.: The fact that they have a potential cure for this impact doesn't mean you should try cocaine out: it'll take them some time to actually develop a proper cure IF this potential cure would work.
