The Bashur Scandal

There's currently a scandal going on in the YouTube community, being that Bashur (MineCraft YouTuber with 1,5m subs, most of them being kids) has a record of trying to have sex with a 13-yr-old girl.
It happened 11 years ago, but DramaAlert apparently hates Bashur and makes the whole thing go viral. Everybody now knows about it while Bashur obviously wanted to just forget about what happened so many years ago and go on with his life as a YouTuber.
I agree on it not being a good thing at all (and he has been punished for it already), but the past is still the past and everyone deserves a second chance. He was 20 at the time, that's the age where all of us have done dumb things! This might be a whole lot more serious than what most of us have ever done, but that doesn't make him a worse person. His videos are entertaining, his style is unique. Why'd you ruin someone's chances at doing their job because of the past? He's not working as a babysitter, he's an online entertainer!
I hope you understand my point and at least accept that the past is the past and everyone deserves a second chance.
